Hydrosphere Consulting specialises in providing strategic advice and scientific services in the coastal, water and environmental management sectors. Our small dynamic team, based in Ballina NSW, is seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic people wishing to contribute to excellent outcomes for our clients.

Senior Environmental Consultant (2 positions)

The position will play a key role in the business and will be pivotal in the planning and delivery of projects for our valued clients. This will be an opportunity to work in a fast-growing regional coastal location with excellent life-style opportunities whilst working on a broad range of high profile, diverse and interesting projects.

At a minimum you will have:

  • A Bachelor's or higher degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, statutory approvals or other relevant field

  • Five years of experience in a consulting or project management position

  • General knowledge of good environmental practice, environmental regulations, assessments

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally

  • Strong project management and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget

 

In addition, we anticipate that you will bring something extra to the table. Candidates with technical specialisations or hands-on experience in any of the following fields will be strong contenders:

  • Coastal management planning, particularly preparation of NSW Coastal Management Programs

  • Environmental assessment and approvals, with knowledge of NSW environmental legislation, REF and EIS experience

  • Dredge planning, approvals and assessment

  • Coastal engineering, works planning and cost estimation

  • Integrated Water Cycle Management, or local government water and sewer strategic business planning.

 

You will be working both individually and as part of project teams. As a senior role, it is expected you will be managing projects, mentoring junior staff as a well as delivering high quality technical work.

We are offering full-time work with flexible hours. The position is office-based, however work from home arrangements are negotiable. You will be expected to travel occasionally for client meetings and project work.
