Tweed Shire Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy

Hydrosphere Consulting has undertaken an independent six-year review of the Tweed Shire Council IWCM Strategy to capture new information, emerging issues and community preferences.

The purpose of this review was to ensure the long-term future direction is appropriate, with due consideration of the current or emerging challenges facing Council and the community desires for future water cycle management. The review is consistent with the best-practice management framework which requires a major review every 6-8 years. The aim of the review is to ensure that Council policy keeps pace with changing circumstances and new information through a process of continual improvement.

This review evaluated implementation progress, considered and where necessary, modified overall objectives and determined the scope of new actions that should be considered.

The review provided a revised strategy that covers the broader responsibilities of Council and provide efficiencies and improved outcomes. The outcomes from this process are highly specific to priority issues, local constraints and stakeholder expectations.
